It had been 6 yrs and 60k mi since I last did a D&F on the coolant, so I took this opportunity to drain what remained in the radiator and refill with new G5 coolant. I still had coolant in the system (just not a full system) so my temp gauge never showed a rise in engine temp. I think I was driving three full days like this.

The 100°C viscosity of the UOA was in-between the 15W-50 and 5W-40 and came in at 15.8. I decided to refill with Delvac 1 ESP 5W-40 (Emissions System Protection) because we're still getting a lot of sub-freezing days here in Northern Colorado. The turbo seals have always been a bit leaky since buying the car, so as I need to top up I'll use 15W-50. And I'm glad I always use the longer filter! In this case it was the Wix 51516, but the new filter is the Purolator-made Carquest R85516.

My OCIs were 10k mi in my 1999 9³SE (T5) which I determined by a long-term UOA history with that car. And that car needed zero make-up oil! I could probably go that long with this T7 engine since I'm constantly adding oil lost thru the leaky turbo seals. My 1990 C900 wasn't a turbo and needed about 1 qt of oil every 5k mi. Long-term UOA on that car showed I could really go indefinitely if I changed the filter every 10k mi. (I changed the oil every 20k mi just because I felt bad going longer.) I guess I'll have to keep track of how much oil I'm adding to the 2002 over the next 5k mi. :-)
