The cheap(er ) way might be to buy a used, known good engine and have it installed! but as said, it's sadly just a parts car now w/ a LOT of miles on it . not worth much. IN the UK now as per my friends, Saab cars are worth more as parts and when they have a major fault they usu get broken up, parted out as you can buy a whole running car for less than it would cost to effect repairs.
