Well yes, kinda you need to fool the Saab computer! drawing fewer watts makes the poor thing think you have a burned out bulb actually it is a good idea! but IME , so far , the LED are NOT as good as old school 100/160 watt H-4 bulb ! so, why even bother w/ LED or HID ? An easy and good fix comes readily to hand . of course, you MUST add heavy duty relays, heavy gauge wire, direct fr the battery, ceramic plugs for the bulb to plug into. and the life is kinda limited , but all in all worth it !....................................................................................................................................................... PS we could care less about " legislated illumination/brightness limits. " NO ONE enforces those in the USA! Luckily in the land of the free and the home of the brave you can fit very bright lights! Who cares what it came w/? Our government DOT sadly is a bunch of idiot bureaucrats who kept us using " sealed beams " for 20 years after better halogen lights were in use in Europe! How many died overdriving their lights ? IMHO they are little better than murderers! Even NOW they are holding us back from the new adaptive headlights and the Laser sourced lights available in Europe! In Germany, the government Automotive regulatory body is populated, run by real engineers! unlike our folks who are totally UNQUALIFIED! ( Leave it to the Germans to invent a laser light you can look directly into and have no eye damage! .)...............................Back to Saabs ! a really good fix is to use the UK glass lens! ( At least on the left side ) a MUCH better beam pattern, less severe light cut off. Just AIM it carefully lest you dazzle the oncoming cars! We find being polite, considerate and using the dipped beam ( low beam ) when cars are oncoming is all you need do ! When there is no traffic ? high beam and Light up the night !
