Just a bump for this post, really hoping to get some help for Roger S and me. Having constant issues with the clutch cable in my 97 NG900T after two replacements and several adjustments (even a homemade metal piece made and installed, which was intended to prevent movement). I can get it to work for short period of time, but eventually shifting becomes impossibly tight and strands me. I've seen the hydraulic conversion but this is going to get really expensive. Maybe it's unavoidable.
