wowo that is hardly "a ton of structure to the front of a convertible !" those are relatively lightweight typical mods- (way less than 50 pounds ) typically, done right away to any OG 9-3 meant to be enjoyed and driven in a spirited manner!........................ Haven't you added them to your viggens? It is considered de rigueur !................I added them one at a time to the spouses 9-3 vert ( and did not tell her ) so a sort of " double blind research study ! " and she noticed the improvement immediately! ( she is hardly a fast driver ) She said "Oh what did you do to this car ? it is better ! "............................... Nick T advises he has a Koni supension set up , ( it took him a dozen tries to develop it ) that gives good initial cush yet firms up when needed. We did the same to our Road racing M/C's !............................. The tires I use, Dunlop direzza Star Sport 225/45 /17 are not really low profile and being one step oversize ( wider ) are really rather cushy ! guys at cars and coffee tease me about my "Nascar type balloon tires!" - compared to the thin low profile tires on their sports cars ! ( And my Dunlops? it's like they are glued to the road!)....................Yes, lighter wheels WOULD help but then you'd need to re-calibrate the suspension and the Saab bolt pattern is kinda rare so would need to be custom made maybe? I'm advised the ideal size compromise for comfort/ performance is 18" you could still run tires w/ enough sidewall for cush ! this chap does not want or need extensive mods apparently so my suggestions are valid I think .
