I assume it was one of two places in the DMV?
(Scandanavian, or IM.)
They are both really top resources for Saabs in the area, but are also more expensive than others, (maybe paying for the official service center designation etc?)
Generally they are also very good at customer service.
and...Generally things in DC area these days are overpriced, rent, real estate, etc...
So I would say from having no specific experience on the viggens alternator, their pricing and service should ("should") be fair with the above considerations. And at those "fair" prices their customer service should be very open if you have questions about their parts and etc.
As a roofer of mine once said about the big name roofer in town: "theyre rich and they want to stay rich"
Not far from scandanavian is a group called Viking Automotive who i hear about, and then in luarel md Dannemans Auto is a long time saab specialist.
Not sure who in the district really is anymore.
good luck with this and future needs.
