It is well worth it to jack up each front wheel and grasp the tire at 12 and 6 o clock and see if there is any play in the front suspension. In my case the '01 9-3 with 175K miles had play in and out and I found the lower ball joint was worn. That ball joint comes with the bottom control arm piece so it is a little work to replace it but well worth it. Sometimes it may help to take the tire off and grasp the rotor instead to find this play. While there, it is often worthwhile to replace the sway bar link.
