Keyless Entry - Is my dealer credible ?

A few months back I asked my dealer if I could pick up a new battery for my keyless entry while the car was in the shop. The dealer did me the favor of installing the new battery for me for $12 labor plus $10 for the battery. A week later my keyless entry did not work at all so I assumed I had a problem with the alarm as I was certain they were experts at installing batteries since they charged me $12 for it. Next time in the shop I had this Saab dealer look at my alarm as I explained they already replaced the battery. Well they wanted $140 to replace my key, as they said it was broken. I did not have the job done and then swapped my new dealership installed battery with one from my spare key (I should have tried this earlier). Furthermore, the keyless entry would now work fine and the other key with new battery did not work at all. When I explained this to the dealer they insisted that they did find a problem with the key and it may just sometimes work now and they did test the battery. Basic logic would tell me that it was just the battery and they never changed my battery once. Is there any logical reason why this dealer may be telling me the truth ?
