There is no requirement that an automaker continue to produce parts for 10 years. They do an "all time run" of some pieces based on historical usage patterns, but major body stampings are treated differently. The dies are usually retained by the automaker and "service parts" are stamped when supplies run low. That is why owners can still buy new hoods and fenders for mid 1960's muscle cars.
But if the die breaks, as has happened with some British Heritage owned dies, everyone is S.O.L. from that time forward.
