I have a load of SAAB 900 parts. I actually have 3 perfect ones as well as 2 good ones. Last year, I decided to try to redo the shabbiest of the good ones. It had about 5 one inch long cracks starting. I sanded the entire top, and filled the cracks with POR patch. I emailed the company and asked if it would work in this application and it would. It goes on like silicone, but dries harder. Still a little plyable, but pretty hard. Once the POR patch dried and degassed, I scuffed it up again and painted it with truck bedliner coating. I forget which brand I used. It's whatever advance sells. I put most of the can on it in light coats. Light coats leave a more textured finish, heavy coats leave a flatter finish. You'd want to experiment before you paint your dash. Its still sitting in my attic. I may install it in a convertible I have apart this winter, but that car lives in a garage, and sees 500 miles a year at the most, so it will never really spend much time in the sun. I don't really know how well it will hold up, but its been in my uninsulated attic for a while now, and looks exactly like it did when I did it. Its seen 120 degree heat and 35 degree cold. I suspect it will be fine in the car. Cosmetically, I'm really happy with it. It looks like a new dash. Its finish is courser than original, but I suspect, you could get it flatter with heavier coats. I'm happy with it the way it is. Looks really good in person.
