Car-part.com is a very nice site in certain ways. It can be good for finding out who *might* have something, and is good for checking prices.

In my experience, junkyards are pretty aggressive about listing parts when they become available, and are incredibly lazy on the other end, often taking months or even years (or never) to remove listings when parts are no longer available. I once drove to a local place because CP indicated they had about 8 of something I was looking for - the guy behind the counter informed me they had none and the last one was sold months ago.

My suggestion: verify availability by phone before going on a drive!
