Two good tires, two bad ones. What to do? Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Tue, 13 Mar 2012 19:02:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I installed four new michelin tires. Neglected to get them rotated in about 10000 miles (or a bit more) and the front ones are clearly gone. The rear ones are fine. Car is a 2000 9-3 SE, and I'd like to keep the two good ones and use them, but am thinking of veering away from Michelin for something with a strong sidewall.
What should I do? If I get four new ones, then rotation is done throughout all four tires, but if I put the Michelins in the front and say, two Dunlops in the rears, I can't rotate. So am I left with just the option of driving with the Michelins in the front until they become junk, then install the other two Dunlops to complete the set of four? Problem with that is that rotation is then going to be an issue since two of the tires will have had more miles put on.
See my problem? Any similar experiences?
Thanks as always for your feedback.
