How to humanely do away with mice on the glue board

I suppose I am a real soft touch when it comes to animals, but I use a Have-a-Hart mouse trap that works wonderfully. I then take the critters to the woods where there are no houses nearby. Mice generally ave about a 1/4 mile home range.

I agree that trying to remove them would likely have injured them. I'd suggest that if you'd like to dispatch them relatively humanely, an easy solution would be to place them within the flow of the exhaust from you car, they will simply fall asleep and die from the carbon monoxide rather quickly and without undue distress.
