My late mother swore by Whirlpool, so I have kept that loyalty - but with mixed results. The Whirlpool washing machine I purchased last year is flawless. The Whirlpool dish washer I purchased two years ago is garbage - unreliable, shuts off mid-cycle for no reason. I searched the Whirlpool boards for trouble shooting and the consensus was that Whirlpool designs the electronics to fail and requires service by their technicians on a frequent basis. Since it was only $600, it is not worth fixing. Once it breaks for good, I'll replace it. Sorry Mom, I'm going Korean next time around.
