You are saying the driven wheels are gonna cause the car to spin? The energy captured on regen will never exceed the maxumum power of the electric motor, so unless it is on ice, they are not capable of locking the wheels. Also don't you think the ABS controller is used to ensure traction is maintained? A 5 KW turbine would only be engaged to recharge the battery pack, so maybe you need to 25 KWh turbine if you want it to sustain highway speeds on level ground and have a 8-10 KWH recharge surplus. Electric braking is often used in mining trucks as well, but the heat is just disspated into the atmosphere. 50% gain would be a huge saving.....and that is with todays technology. You did use some math to minimize the value which I thought was inaccurate.
