Make them at least 60 inches long and the depth of each step can be around 8 inches, plenty for the footprint of your C900 tires. (You can do the math, it all depends on whether you're using all plywood, all 2-bys or a mix.) This way you just creep up each step with out all the drama of a straight inclined ramp. You can even "45" the leading edge of each step before you fasten it (when building the ramp) to make your ascent smoother. If I didn't describe it well enough, just start searching the internet images for "wood ramp car". As an engineer, I'm sure you'll appreciate some of the more, ahem, elaborate wooden lift structures in the wild.
