I assumed it would be mine to drive because I didn't think my younger sister would want to drive a stick, and I knew my oldest sister would be incapable of driving one (her nickname isn't Calamity Jane for nothing). Much to my surprise my younger sister loved it and she has had manual transmission cars for nearly half of the intervening years.
Alas, she had to recently sell her '04 9-3SS with manual because her left knee needs replacement and the shifting was causing her great pain.
The Viggen is only my third car with a manual; a '79 TransAm with the T/A 6.6 engine and 4-speed, an '84 S-10 pickup with V6 and 4-speed that I used as a daily driver for ten years, and my recently acquired 2000 Viggen.
