Most of the serious problems are supplied by your insurance company. If you have a "fender bender" without a police report and you decide to fix it yourself there will probably not be any report to Carfax. I have to chuckle when a see standard oil changes, services, etc, oh let's not forget replacement of windshield wiper blades listed on the Carfax report. There are ways of telling if major body panels, bumpers, etc. have been replaced. About 4 years ago a small tree limb fell on my convertible top. All the metal framework, fabric, and service to the hydraulics were replaced. Car fax was notified by the insurance company without any supporting information as to what happened. I agree with a previous comment; "if you think it means something, it means something.
