Thought about this some more and...I don't think I'm Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Wed, 4 Jun 2014 16:05:04 In Reply to: Thanks for the replies...but I'm unsure now, bender [Profile/Gallery] , Wed, 4 Jun 2014 15:51:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
safe. The charge on my card is "United Air" followed by some numbers. They charged me in CAD. Why? I have a feeling United Air is a fake company based in Canada and they charge me there. They then book me (?) on United Airlines but somehow cancel my flight. Since I am not the one who booked on United and someone did it on my behalf, I have a feeling some other messes can still occur.
Really not sure what to do. I'll call both United and try to find out if I can get information from the bank.
I paid my credit card bill. Hope that's not going to make any potential disputes a mess. I also went ahead and got my card shut down.
Can anyone tell me what a charge from the real United Airlines appears as on your credit card?
UPDATE: I can find my ticket when visiting United online. When I click on "view receipt" is says "BULK USD." I called United and apparently I'm flying through this company, which goes by various names. They are based in Canada and are called "Skylink Travel" and I evidently got charged through them under a phony name of "United Air" which _even_ says Continental in one part. At this point, I have a seat on the plane. Apparently they have the ability to cancel my ticket. If I dispute it with my CC, I don't know if I'll get my money back. Perhaps it's best to just fly it out and be done with it. Any thoughts? Wish I could screw these guys royally.
