ASUS laptop repaired

For those of you who responded to my post about laptop dying when inadvertently shorting out a USB port.
There are no fuses that I could discern on the laptop but the main power supply has a circuit breaker with a reset button - oddly enough the laptop has to taken apart to access this button, I had done so but the laptop remained dead but then I noticed a loose ribbon cable , reseated that and laptop comes to life.
