No driveway, we park on the street, so all there is the brick
walkway to the sidewalk, and the 40 feet of sidewalk in front
of the house. The guy on the corner bought a snowblower (yes,
a snowblower in DC) and does the sidewalk on both sides of the
street, bless his heart (literally, he's had some surgery), so
all I have to do is shovel the walk and spread some salt if it's icy.
Winters are pretty variable in DC. Some years we get nailed a couple
of times, sometimes not so much. This year it was slow starting
and a couple of late storms (March even) to round things out.
I can't imagine living somewhere without distinct seasons -- there's
always the next one to look forward to.
