High end graphics = Discrete Graphics (extra card in laptop or desktop)


If Discrete Graphics ARE AVAILABLE then why not? Mike would have to explain more about the laptop uses but we went off topic anyway. Mac 13 or Dell 13 was the question? I haven't used either. I have however used PC's with (Laptops) Discrete Graphics and without. CAD aside, the extra graphics chip keeps the main processor available and cool for main duty applications instead of video. Fan noise is also down.

Bottom line. Look for the newest (5th generation) Intel chip in the laptop and SSD. Teach your son about PC or MAC backup on a HDD, ODD, USB.

Macs use Intel chips, right?...
