I would say think twice about the Saab.
A friend of mine moved to Hawaii (O'Ahu) for a 3 year assignment with a corporate relocation. His company covered the cost for him to bring a vehicle from the mainland. He opted to buy a used Jeep Wrangler in CT before he moved. These vehicles are in high demand in Hawaii, and fetch a high price on the used market there. He figured it would be fun to have a vehicle with a removable top and capability to carry bikes and surfboards. Also very easy to get service and parts locally. When his 3 year stint is done, he plans to sell the Jeep on the island and will likely make a small profit. I don't know what your job offer will entail regarding relocation expenses, but a moderately priced Saab there will likely only decrease in value over time.
Word is he likes the island like so far. He got back into surfing, something he did growing up as a child in Florida. He found it was not a big deal to adjust his diet, as fish and produce are cheap and staples from back on the mainland like boxed cereal are expensive. Down side is the traffic is terrible, it is faster for him to ride his bike to work.
