I went with Conti Extreme Contact DW on my Viggen Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 16 May 2016 03:23:04 In Reply to: Re: 8 year old tires, car always garaged...dangerous?, bender [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 15 May 2016 21:59:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced them last Spring in response to the same fear you have. Much less expensive than the highly regarded Michelin Pilot Super Sports but still a Y or Z rated summer performance tire. These also have deep water grooves for those drenching downpours that appear out of nowhere on a sunny summer drive.
Only about 3K miles worth of use on them but I am happy with my choice. Long drive to Carlisle and back last May on these tires with heavy rain on the return trip.
