I will spend some time reading it later. It seemed to be a pretty good article at a first glance through.

So it comes down to me when I want to pull the trigger and if I trust the doctor to get it right. He said it is less than 1% chance that something could go wrong which would include death but we have heard that before (trust me, nothing can go wrong, before they handed out thalidomide in the 60th) so that's why I want to see how risky it is versus leaving it alone.

Not being sick for over 20 years also makes you think you can stick it out for a bit longer without any harm.

Sucks to get old.
