It is easy to criticize. When we see this kind of stuff, we feel superior.
However, think about how the "safe" Versa (or Accord, Camry, 9-5) would fare in a collision with the best selling vehicle in the US -- Ford F-150. Would anyone inside it survive such a crash? Look around -- there are so many of these huge trucks driven by people who have no use for them other that the occasional trip to the Home Depot.
What is safer? A small, "unsafe" car in a poor country driven slowly around cars of the same general size and weight or a "safe" car with 10 airbags sharing a 70 mph highway with high and mighty trucks and SUVs?
Maybe not all that superior, huh?
