It's become my observation that KBB is giving such incredibly low values to used Saabs that it's no longer much use for pricing purposes. I've had two recent experiences in getting values from AAA insurance for Saabs. For a 2005 Saab 9-2X with 95,000 miles in EXCELLENT condition, KBB says it is worth a paltry $5,721 (private party sale). The 9-2X Aero was in great condition but the exterior was definitely not excellent (dings from 12 years of city driving etc). However, AAA paid out $10,200 for the vehicle using real-world comps. Another example, a 2007 Saab 9-3 SportCombi with 140,000 miles in very good condition inside and out gets a value from KBB of only $4,119. Again, AAA valued the car at $5,800 using real-world comps. I've also got comments that Saabs in the classifieds here regularly go for over KBB and also read today that "...since the last Saab produced for the U.S. was in 2011, Kelley Blue Book no longer receives updated "values" from the manufacturer." I don't know what info KBB gets from manufacturers, but they seem to be WAY OFF the mark for used Saab values.
Would love to hear any thoughts on this.
