Large and luxury hatchback sales in the U.S. are still pretty minimal, however, and many out there have seen already low sales go even lower over the last few years including Audi A7, BMW 3 and 5-Series GT, and Porsche Panamera. Europeans have typically been much more open to luxury hatchbacks than Americans.
Small/economy car hatchbacks have historically been more accepted here and there are quite a few of them including recent newcomers like the Chevrolet Cruze and Honda Civic.
