I had to get a *speaker* for my '08 Aero, and went down to the local Saab dismantlers... a place I have been visiting for 25 years. They used to have scores - maybe 60 or 70 or so - Saabs there. I remember when they installed racks so they could stack them three high and get a couple hundred in. Two weeks ago, they had about 20. "It's hard to find them at auctions anymore" I was told. The number of '07+ 9-3s was two, plus a wrecked '11 9-5.
I've still got three Saabs, and I'll keep 'em even when they're just museum pieces, but to suggest everything is hunky dory and as good as ever is missing an 800lb gorilla looming just out of sight.
I'm not complaining - I love my cars and always have, but owning a Saab in 2017 is not like it was in 1997. Not by a long shot!
