A zinc deficiency could be a factor. Zinc oxide foot powder used to be available as well.
I can't wear synthetic socks as they make my feet sweat. No problem with cotton socks. Some other people have this issue.
After working out or sweating, put on dry socks. Learned that the hard way.
Shoes become contaminated. Some 'trainers' can go through the washing machine and some bleach can be used as well.
Looser fitting shoes that allow your feet to breath may be helpful. A looser shoe can move and displace air with every step.

Endocrinology is my hobby, I help guys from all over the world with male hormone issues and other issues that come up that affect quality of life. With all of the zeal that we see here with guys maintaining their Saab's, I often wonder about the aging community of Saab enthusiasts who should be becoming more focused on proactively maintaining their own bodies.
