Alert me when someone posts in this thread:

The Chevy Bolt has a stated all-electric range of 238 miles. You could start with a full charge, use 150 miles of this on your way out, and have approximately 88 miles of range remaining. One of the extra cost options on the Bolt is "Fast Charging", which allows the car to charge up 90 additional miles in 30 minutes, meaning that you would have a total range of 178 miles for the return trip in "30 minutes of charging". I used quotes because there are a lot of caveats that go with this, the primary one being that you have to have a fast charging station available at your destination; they are being built here, and even more are being built in Europe, where it is more uncommon to drive 500+ miles in a day (yes, I've done this).

Chevy comes up a bit short vs. the competition on this: the Tesla Model S and X and presumably the Model 3 all charge at 48A, allowing close to 30-35 miles per hour of charge. That means it takes less than 3 hours to put on 100 miles.

Naturally, this is a problem that is being addressed and will probably become less of an issue in the next few years.
