I purchased two years ago that were machined stainless steel, 7/8" hex head, deeper reach with a very strong magnet. The lube oil company that had these made up stopped having these made. When I change the oil, there is a smooth black paste on the magnet, material no longer in circulation.
I had a good look for similar products yesterday. Too many pretty ones make out of aluminum. Aluminum on aluminum may cause problems with galling, but perhaps I am too cautious. With a steel oil pan, you do not want a steel plug as the magnet may then induce wear metal capture to the adjacent pan, that is where the non magnetic stainless steel comes into play. With an aluminum oil sump, the body of the magnetic oil plug can be magnetic steel.
Found this: http://goldplug.com/shop/ap08/
Which showed up with their vehicle selector for the older Saab I4 engines. Once you have a product selected, may be available on Amazon
A plug that does deeper into the sump will work better.
