My wife and I watched the Swedish language original film on NetFlix. She was leery at first because: I recommended it, it was in Swedish and sub-titled in English, it featured multiple references to Saab cars.
At the conclusion of the film she was simultaneously laughing and crying. Saying it was probably the best film we have ever watched.
I like Tom Hanks as an actor and he seems to be an all around great guy. But I fear this remake will be more of a tribute to him than a proper retelling of the story.
