Ouch, I've gotten caught once or twice.. - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I've gotten caught once or twice with the top down stuck in traffic
on the highway creeping forward to the next offramp so I could pull
over and put the top up. Once with the car full of kids going to a
soccer game, which they thought was fun. Drizzle on the highway
does sort of go over the top. With the SAAB and the
parking brake interlock you'd really have to pull over to put the top
up. The new convertible (Toyota Solara) doesn't seem to have that, I've
put the top down sitting at a red light without the parking brake on.
I guess you could do it moving -- in fact I saw a you-tube repair of
someone who shredded the top putting it up or down at speed on a Solara.
I haven't tried it in stop-and-go traffic.
Miss the kids. Miss the SAAB.
