I agree they are not very accurate. It's not uncommon to see different results every couple months as the pool of people taking the tests increase. My grandfather and now my mother have done a lot of genealogy and a couple years back my siblings and I all got DNA test kits for Christmas. My kit was an Ancestry kit, siblings got kits from another company and they all got imported into 23andme. Even though I took only one test the results between Ancestry and 23andme show different ancestry.
Ancestry show I'm primarily Scandinavian - 32% where 23andme has me primarily French & German 21.8% and only 2.9% Scandinavian. Both grandfathers are English decent, Dad's mom is German/French, and Mom's mom Polish and the results do show that, but the percentages just don't match each other.
