For sure I am comparing similar vehicles. No matter how much I hypermile my ICE car, I get no better than 18-19 mpg. Driven like I drive my Tesla, I would probably get around 12-15 mpg. The instant torque is super addictive. You have to compare apples to apples. The MS does 0-60 in 4.2-4.4 seconds, which is slightly faster than my V8 car. For comparison purposes, the manual transmission is an absolute must, since the responsiveness and regenerative braking of the Tesla is what I was looking for as a requirement for my next vehicle. Modern automatics provide better fuel economy, but vast majority take way to long to respond to driver input, which is not something I can tolerate. My wife hates driving automatic cars, too.
Supercharging is not included. $70/month driven locally around 150 miles going to multiple places every day. I used to fuel my ICE car almost every day, which is something I loathe doing. My favorite part of owning an EV is that it is always full in the morning and I don't have to stop for fuel. I hate gas stations! Now that I seldom have to visit them I notice how disgusting they are with the smell and the grime. I cannot wait to get a second EV so that I don't have to set my foot at a gas station ever again!
