Just secured a complete rear subframe from a donor 2007. Completely disassembled it. Have the rear hub rear bushings out and replaced (a vice and socket works nice to start off), replaced the trailing arm bushings too (used a press... they separated with a bang!). The subframe itself has four bushings. I helps to have the correct tool to remove them... found one for sale in Israel... and am awaiting its arrival.

In the mean time, will sandblast the entire subframe, and repaint it with POR15 and an epoxy topcoat. Going to add new upper control arms, bearing hubs, sway bar linkages, sway bar rubber, shocks, shock mounts. A complete rebuild.

I have to say, I can't imagine trying to work in the subframe on the car... so much easier off the car.

Watched the TV show "Wheeler dealers" it inspired this rebuild. They had a subframe rebuild to do; They didn't have the factory jig to remove the subframe, so with the wheels still on the car, loosened off all of the bolts holding on the subframe. Then lowered the car on the hoist until it was sitting normally on the floor; then removed the loosened bolts. Raised up the car, leaving the subframe with wheels on the floor! Brilliant! Then did the reverse to install.
