After a rash of package thefts in my area last summer, I took to shipping a couple of higher value Amazon purchases (like Bose headphones I bought with Amex rewards points) to the Amazon locker at my local Whole Foods. That at least keeps it in the Amazon supply and delivery chain until I pick it up, versus having it dropped outside my door.
My wife recently ordered some stuff from Lands' End and Chico's (tall stuff not in stores). I was surprised that one of the packages was delivered Sunday evening (like 7 pm). I was even more surprised to go outside Monday morning and find the other package on the front steps -- clearly a second delivery overnight. USPS in my area is awful, but they seem to be doubling down on Sunday delivery (keeping in mind my wife only takes free shipping - its not like we paid for it!)
