After over 40 years of Saab ownership, I will soon be selling my last. My first was a 1976 99LE "Belgium car" that I bought in 1978. The winter of 78-79 saw unprecedented snowfall in the Milwaukee area. I was one of the few cars that was on the road every day. Back then Saab drivers would flash their headlights when they saw another Saab. I have had a dozen Saabs over the years - all manual. I endured the GM takeover and then the bankruptcy. Our kids all had Saab manuals. That way their friends couldn't borrow them at college and we didn't have to worry about them being stolen. Our entire family has transitioned over to Subaru's. Our son still has a Saab, albeit a 9-2X. I subscribed to the Saab Club newsletter which then became "Nines". Then I discovered Saabnet.com in 1996 and joined shortly thereafter. If you have a Saab and you're not a member, I strongly urge you to join. This site has been an invaluable resource.
