I'm currently flying from Boston to London 1x/month for the past 2 years.
I think the worst part is the airport, the dumb lines, and the waste of time.
The above comment about saving the money by flying two trips at once:
If you can schedule two trips at once:
First book X-to-Y from first trip's first flight, to last trip's homeward flight.
Then book Y-to-X from the end of the first trip to the beginning of the second trip. (opposite commute)
Skipping over a Saturday is the crux of the issue, otherwise the airlines see it as a business flight and it costs a lot.
book through the airline directly, builds miles, status, etc.
Draw it out to make sure you've got it right.
It saves a lot of cash, hopefully yours.
I bought a bicycle for England. But the old 9-3s with right-hand drive are tempting.
NEGOTIATE time to work at home. Calculate the wasted time traveling (or charge for the time to travel@!@@@@) to leverage the situation.
