That joke could apply today as the Fiat brand is struggling once again in the U.S. Sales last year fell 41% to a level not much better than it was back in 1982 when rapidly declining sales lead Fiat to decide to exit the U.S. market. I wonder how much longer they will remain in the U.S. as it may make more sense for FCA to simply drop the Fiat brand here and instead sell them as modified/rebadged Chryslers, Dodges, Jeeps and/or Rams as they do in some cases already.
