Trade in deals are usually not deals... The new car buyer just wants an easy way to dispose of the car, the dealer sends them off in bulk as quickly as possible. It is all about *easy*! If you want to get maximum value from your old working SAAB, sell it privately at a reasonable price and somebody will take it. The problem some sellers have is they ask way too much for what it is worth and the car sits, but $250 is scrap metal cost (if that) so that is nonsense... remember, car dealers are professional negotiators. You are not getting a deal there.
