and I like the rationale ! being able to maybe diagnose and repair it yourself. Audi 's do have the reputation as being difficult to repair, difficult to acess components . They are not designed as mechanics say to BE repaired .And the Spares are expensive. As for the electronic gizmo to diagnose and repair it ? Most makers have either their own or there is an aftermarket one available . Thats not unique to Audi. The factory tool for a Ferrari is called the "leonardo" it's $19K It's little brother is called " DaVinci" and is only $9K (it can do 90% of what big bro can do ) and there are even cheaper alternatives . The Saab tech 2 was $2K + you can get a great chi-com copy ( hard to tell the difference ) for $250 ! Now what other brands can we get a code reader , diagnostic tool for ?
