Hey folks,
Some of you may remember...I had (have) a '99 9-3 that I've owned since new, which was rear-ended in late 2013. I was the original/only owner...and it was pristine. It's been sitting my garage ever since. It's time for it to go. My awesome SAAB mechanic sadly passed away as well. I think that was the last straw. Realistically, I'm not going to fix it and get it on the road again.
Yesterday I started taking some things off of it (SAAB oem roof bars, took off the really nice 17" dual 3 spoke aero wheels and put the originals back on, etc) with the intention of beginning the process of selling parts from it (via a classified ad on this site.)
As I've gotten older, I've gained so much perspective - it's just a car....but damn, it's still a sad process! I've had this car for just about 20 years...so many memories in it...and it is not an appliance, I feel bad throwing away something that the SAAB engineers and factory workers worked so hard on with so little resources (even with GM involvement).
Anyway, just felt like sharing that.
Any advice for parting it out would be appreciated. I do have some cool stuff...the dual 3 spoke aero wheels, oem stainless saab sport exhaust, the oem roof load bars, eibach/bilstein suspension (granted may not be worth it for me to try to remove that). I plan to take out an ad on this site (this post is not an ad). I guess I'd post it as a whole parts car, but list some of the cool stuff, and see what requests come in? If I can reasonably remove something, I guess I can.
Thanks guys!!
Alex
