Somebody please help me understand why some communities allow tinted windows dark enough so you can't see in. I just spent some time in Tennessee and it occurred to me how difficult, maybe dangerous, this makes things for other drivers.
Approaching an intersection at the same time as another driver typically we'll make eye contact with each other and decide who should go first. This time the other driver had very dark windows and I couldn't tell if he was waving me on or giving me the finger.
What happens when a cop pulls over a car for some infraction and he can't see the driver? Maybe he's pulling a gun. In my state, Massachusetts, at inspection time if windows appear too dark the inspector will use a light meter to check it's not too dark a tint.
Maybe the keep the car cooler but I think it's a bad idea. Rant is now over.
