That's what I meant too. In Luxembourg there is no car tax apart from the annual car tax.
Well, if you don't work for the EU (or CD) you have to pay VAT (15%) as on anything else you buy - but there is no *extra* tax just because it's a car and not a bicycle...
The Danish 180% car tax is IN ADDITION to the 25% VAT.
Just as a matter of interest, at least one Danish SAAB dealer sells the 9-5 Aero for DKK 167,000 (=$19,000) tax-free - list price incl. tax is DKK 531,000 (=$60,000)! And that's without leather, sunroof, CD-player etc...
