Here's the current rule, maybe it gives info for your area: http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/fuels/oxy-area.pdf
As you'll see, in some areas there are both ethanol and MTBE formulas available. If yours is a mixed area, you should be able to find out from the companies which blend they use (realizing that they sell each other's gas all the time, so it's not easy to know what you're putting in your tank on any given day).
Before we had to have oxygenated fuel year-round, there was a distinct 10% or so hit in mileage during the months it was sold. Now I suppose I'll have to take a long trip to find out how much mileage it's costing me. It's going to get *really* interesting when the California MTBE ban goes into effect.
