Take the infinity Qx4. IT's a vehicle that lots of people buy because there is room to haul stuff in the back area as well as 4 adults. Then look at the 798 lb that the vehicle was designed to carry. Subtract my 230 lbs, passengers at 200 lbs etc. & there is NO room to carry anything within the vehicles limits. Add to that the high center of gravity (only taken how many year for them to finally realize this) & it just becomes scary.
Their point is people don't go buy a car based on what it can carry, they expect that ANY suv can be fully loaded & be safe. Not true, unless you go with a suburban (or the likes) & then you have to deal with the big size, poor handling but the brakes are a TON better.
I think it is the smaller SUV's (explorer, grand cherokee, etc.) that make up the majority of SUV sales so it makes sence they concentrated ont that :o)
I hate em all, & we have a Y2K suburban
