My personal opinion is this: british automobiles have always been some of the most awesome cars ever built, however, like someone else said, they are quirky in an "odd way", not a smart way. Yes, a Rover will go anywhere. So will a 73 Ford Bronco. A new starter for the Disco will probably be no less than a Zillion dollars. 73 Bronco: 60 bucks plus core, tops. British cars have always had electrical systems that are worthless, and their resale values are pathetic. Just look in the classifieds for a Jag xj-6. Same with MG's. Yes, $40K will buy you a peeerty dang nice Land Rover, but it will get you TWO (2) show quality 73 Broncos with suspension mods that will make a land rover blush. Think twice about how badly you want to look like a yuppie, and then again about how cool and original you can look for half the price+ all of the ammenities that you can wire into the fuseblock on the Bronc. I guess I am just writing down my opinion because I can't understand why people buy these exspensive european cars with really bad historical reputations. Blow what money you want, but for god's sake, fly your own course, and have fun doing it.
