9-3 cruise control

I just got a 2001 9-3 SE, and the cruise control behaves differently from the 900SE I've been driving for the past 4 years. On the 900 when I hit the Resume function (e.g. after going through a toll booth), the turbo kicks in and the car zips back up to speed. But on the 2001 the turbo does not kick in, and the car climbs (relatively) slowly back to speed. Is this a design change on the 9-3, or does my car need reprogramming?
